Accommodation overview: Cobblestone Barn was converted in 2010 from the original barn into a stunning self catering cottage, sure to appeal to even the most discerning guests. The owners have retained as much of the character as possible, with beamed ceilings and stone walls, then furnished and equipped it luxuriously to ensure the comfort of guests. The cottage is situated in the pretty village of Melmerby, at the foot of the Pennine Hills. Next door is the Shepherds Inn with restaurant and bar and the renowned village bakery is across the road. Accommodation overview: Coledale Close is a truly exceptional property in every way, it enjoys a wonderful private location and superb views, yet only 400 yards from the centre of Braithwaite and amenities. The owners bought the property in 2010 and spent a year renovating and modernising it and landscaping the garden. They retained the original character but fitted high quality kitchen and bathroom, excellent furnishings and co ordinated linens.

Although not strictly Cumbria, this delightful seaside village is only a few miles from Kendal and a mere 20 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale making it an ideal base for exploring no less than three counties in one trip. An area of outstanding natural beauty, nature lovers will revel in the flora and fauna of the area as well as some excellent walking, a fabulous beach and wonderful views of the Lakeland Fells and Morecambe Bay.

Both Coniston, Ulverston and Broughton are within easy reach enabling visitors to explore the fields and fells that are visible from the door of Langholme Mill, enticing visitors to explore the great outdoors. Langholme Mill Cottage is rather special as it has almost an acre of beautiful woodland gardens. Designed around the mill race, the gardens feature interesting displays, ornamental bridges and features slate paths, as well as well established rhododendrons, hostas and aces providing a mass of vibrant colour. The owners open their garden (by prearranged appointment only) as part of the National Gardens Scheme throughout the summer in aid of nursing, caring and gardening charities.

Accommodation overview: Built around 1760, this charming, ancient farmhouse was once part of Lowfold Farm, nestling in a small cluster of older properties on the fringes of Ambleside, set half way between the village and the Lake on the original old road into Ambleside. Some excellent walking can be enjoyed straight from door, the footpath to Jenkins Crag and leading onto Wansfell being literally over the garden wall whilst the delights of this now rather cosmopolitan village are a level 5 minute stroll. An eclectic mix of restaurants serving international cuisine are on hand to tempt you throughout the day and into the evening whilst a good selection of interesting shops and outdoor outlets will ensure you have all the ingredients for supper and that youre kitted out for all types of Lakeland weather!

Accommodation overview: This delightful Lakeland cottage, which was converted from a former barn adjoining Low Hall, enjoys a peaceful and idyllic setting in the picturesque North Western Lakes. Low Hall lies between Cockermouth and Lorton in the most tranquil location, surrounded by woodland and open fields with views to the Lakeland fells. There is an abundance of wildlife, including deer, badgers, red squirrels, hares, buzzards and other birds of prey, and over 40 different bird species have been recorded. A stream, Little Sandy Beck runs through the cottage garden with a bridge into the woodland beyond. There is a bridleway from the house and a beautiful riverside walk along the river Cocker to Lorton and Cockermouth.
