Ferry Cottage is a detached, two-bedroomed property with rooms all on the ground floor. All offer the very best in waterside living. For the fisherman, this part of the Broads offers some of the best coarse fishing anywhere in the UK (fishing licence required). For the nature enthusiast, everything is on the doorstep - walking and cycling can be enjoyed along a network of quiet lanes and the river and the Broads can be explored by boat, which can be hired directly from the owner. Winterton-on-Sea is a short drive away with its wonderful sandy beach and dunes. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the north beach is home to a colony of grey seals.
The BeWILDerwood Outdoor Adventure Park at Horning offers treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges and more - all adding up to a great day out for children. The fine city of Norwich with its cathedrals, castle, museums, theatre and vast array of cafes and shops is half an hour away. There is a wealth of National Trust properties to visit in the area, which include Felbrigg Hall, Garden and Park (one of the finest Jacobean houses in East Anglia), the beautifully landscaped Sheringham Park and the magnificent Blickling Hall with its woodland and lakeside walks. Horsey Wind Pump is only 3 miles away (and a good destination for a boat trip).

Accommodation overview: A perfect holiday venue for large groups and families, for reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas or New Year, this substantial Victorian period town house is the end one of a row. Retaining all its period features with rooms of large proportions and high ceilings, it is set on three floors and some rooms boast excellent sea views. Situated in a conservation area in Cromer town, it is less than 220 yards from the sandy beach and within walking distance of Cromer pier. Perfectly positioned in the heart of the town for its wealth of amenities and attractions for all ages. Cromer offers promenade gardens, a pier with a theatre hosting regular concerts and featuring visiting performers, an RNLI lifeboat station and museum, an 18-hole cliff top golf course, plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants, and a number of public houses within ½ mile. Popular events include Carnival week (normally held during the third week of August), and fireworks over the water on New Year’s Day (weather permitting). There are many National Trust properties within an easy drive. The neighbouring seaside town of Sheringham (5 miles) has a sandy beach, the North Norfolk Steam Railway, Splash Aqua pool, Sheringham gardens, regular market days, shops, cafes and restaurants. This 19th-century Italianate courtyard conversion, with substantial coach house, designed by Buckingham Palace architect Edward Blore, offers a unique holiday experience with its superb indoor heated swimming pool. The Coach House and its adjoining courtyard buildings are the only surviving testimony to this once prestigious hall. Built in 1840, the Clock Tower entrance (with working clocks similar to that of the Palace) is thought to be the only other example of its kind. With four-poster beds and marble-top dining tables, the properties are tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard. Located at the epicentre of Norfolk’s finest attractions, guests at Haveringland Hall will find themselves only a short drive away from fine golf at Weston Park and Barnham Broom, and walking and cycling paths such as The Marriots Way, The Bure Valley and Weavers Way. There is easy touring to the North Norfolk Coast, with Holt and Burnham Market (known as the Hamptons of Norfolk) just 12 miles, with delicatessen and excellent shopping, first class pubs and restaurants. Cromer (possibly most famous for its crabs), Sheringham and Caister all offering sandy beaches. Within a 30-minute drive are the Norfolk Broads at Wroxham, where visitors can hire boats for the day, or alternatively enjoy a leisurely day cruise. Tucked away on the edge of the historic Georgian market town of Holt, situated just a few miles inland from the North Norfolk Coast with its wealth of sandy beaches, RSPB nature and bird reserves. Providing perfect holiday retreats for discerning larger family groups, these converted barns offer spacious and comfortable accommodation boasting beamed interiors, wood-burning stove, limestone floors, en-suite bathroom facilities to most bedrooms and well-equipped farmhouse kitchens with granite work surfaces. Situated within landscaped grounds with an unfenced natural wildlife pond, the holiday properties are within walking distance of Holt market place, with its many very attractive buildings and the back streets leading to courtyards with their cafés and plenty of shops to enjoy. The town is served by a unique horse drawn coach service known as ‘The Holt Flyer’ connecting the railway station to the town, which is about three quarters of a mile away, at Kelling. The North Norfolk Railway (the Poppy Line) runs along the Norfolk coast onto Sheringham.
Excellent walking enjoyed from the doorstep, with designated footpaths and Holt Lowes Country Park; an area of SSSI and a tranquil setting of almost 100 acres of mature woodland adjoining the heathland and River Glaven with broadrides and way marked walks. One of the routes is designed for ease of use by the less mobile or for families with pushchairs. Interesting features within the park include totem pole, carved stile, play area and viewing tower.

(with resident swans and mallards), yet only 5 miles from the attractive city of Norwich. It stands in secluded, mature lawned gardens, which are completely secure and benefits from sole use of an inter-connecting indoor heated swimming pool. With over 200 feet of private river frontage, two Canadian canoes and decked seating area with canopy cover this makes the perfect spot for visitors to dine and enjoy this idyllic setting, disturbed only by the sound of the occasional rowing boat of an angler. Lovingly restored by its owner, the house features a wealth of exposed beams and timber framing, a re-discovered inglenook fireplace and an original listed door. From this restful, secluded spot, both the city amenities and the Norfolk Broads are easily reached. Wroxham, the ‘capital’ of Broadland is only 10 miles away, with day boat hire and cruises. Within 40 minutes by car are the delights of the North Norfolk coast: broad sandy beaches at Holkham, a bird and seal reserve at Blakeney, and seaside attractions at Wells. The Royal Sandringham Estate and Museum, 10 miles, is open to visitors when the Royal Family are not in residence. Fly fishing and coarse fishing available at the nearby Narborough trout and coarse lakes, 1 mile. Many places of historical and interest lie in the surrounding area, including Castle Rising, Castle Acre Priory ruins, Houghton and Oxborough Halls, Walsingham Abbey and Shrine ruins. The medieval town of Kings Lynn has waterfront shops, shopping complex, a theatre, inns and restaurants, 8 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.
