Self catering accommodation in Rishangles sleeps 10.

Accommodation overview: Imaginatively converted by a well-known Suffolk furniture maker, this Grade II listed church provides unique holiday accommodation. Superb views of the hamlet and the surrounding open countryside are to be feasted upon from the bell tower. A galleried library, together with the mullioned and stained glass windows and vaulted ceilings also add to the unusual aspects of this property. Densely inhabited during the Norman and Saxon times, this now tranquil rural area is scattered with relics of this bygone era. Eye itself houses the ruins of a Norman castle, the stones of which were recycled to form a folly during the 19th century, while its fine Grade II listed church is of particular historical and architectural interest. Visit also the abbey ruins at Bury St Edmunds and Thetford, and the fascinating reconstruction of an Anglo-Saxon farming settlement in West Stow. Local produce can be purchased at the bustling Friday market in nearby Diss. Walking along the Peddars and Angles Way, or along the coast (accessible in around half an hour), where the Suffolk Coast Path winds through the coastal towns of Walberswick, Dunwich and Aldeburgh, taking in many nature reserves en route. Whatever you choose to do, a stay at Rishangles Old Church is sure to be a memorable experience! Shop 2 miles.
