This 18th-century, Grade II listed town house has been lovingly updated to provide beautiful and comfortable holiday accommodation in the heart of the traditional fishing village of Mevagissey on Cornwall’s sub-tropical south coast. Set close to the working harbour that is home to the colourful Mevagissey fishing fleet, local shops, an abundance of restaurants, cafes and pubs all serving local food and local ales, Tregoney House provides the perfect base to enjoy the village and surrounding countryside and coastline.
Mevagissey is historically linked to the beautiful and enchanting Lost Gardens of Heligan, which can be reached by bike and where the Italianate gardens can be admired, the ‘Jungle’ garden can be explored and lunch can be enjoyed in the cafe. Mevagissey is the perfect destination for all types of holiday, whether it is a peaceful break, beach holiday or activity break on this picturesque stretch of Cornwall. Sea fishing, boat trips and a ferry to Fowey leave the harbour during the season.
The beaches of Pentewan, Port Mellon and Gorran Haven are all easily accessible. Port Mellon beach can be reached on foot from Tregoney House and is in a small sheltered cove, perfect for relaxing, exploring or rock pooling. A cycle track at Pentewan provides an alternative route to one of Cornwall’s and the country’s famous tourist attractions, the Eden Project. It joins a network of trails right into the heart of Cornwall’s historic china clay area. Other attractions in the area are Caerhays House and Garden, a vineyard and the Shipwreck and Heritage Centre at nearby Charlestown - home to tall sailing ships and a regular set used for film and TV programmes. Nearby St Austell has supermarkets, bowling, swimming pools and leisure facilities. Shop and pub 40 yards.
