Accommodation overview: Clifton Cottages, comprising spacious Clifton Cottage, a large Georgian house and formerly the owners’ home, together with the smaller former groom’s cottage, Clifton Edge, has been converted with much care to provide comfortable holiday accommodation. Clifton Cottage, suitable for larger groups, boasts a large entrance hall, three reception rooms, and retains much original character with its beams, Aga and homely open fires. Clifton Edge boasts a hot tub in its own enclosed garden providing the perfect way to relax at the end of the day. Adjacent, yet detached from one another, they are set in a village location with the market town of Ashbourne only 1½ miles away on the edge of the Peak District National Park. There are many shops to browse and good facilities including supermarkets and a number of restaurants. There are leisure centres at both Ashbourne and Uttoxeter for swimming, squash and other sports. A similar distance away, an 18-hole golf course proves popular with visitors (available weekdays only). From the cottages one can undertake country walks, cycle rides through country lanes and there is also a very good pub 100 yards away in the village which does good food and welcomes Clifton Cottages guests. Highlights in the area include Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Peak caves and caverns near Castleton, Alton Towers theme park (within 5 miles), Sudbury Museum of Childhood, Crich Tram Museum, Bakewell, Carsington Water, Matlock Bath including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham. Accommodation overview: Peacefully set, this lovely family home has a charming, enclosed garden with a large lawn and pretty patio area. It is ideal for children to play in. The property lies in the picturesque village of Clanfield which has an excellent restaurant/hotel, a homely pub and post office/shop. There are many walks to explore around the village, as well as quiet lanes, suitable for cycling with children.
Nearby Bampton offers larger shops including an excellent butchers, Faringdon holds regular farmers markets and there is a local vineyard in Black Bourton. Within a couple of miles radius there are many local attractions to enjoy. These include the beautiful town of Burford - not forgetting the much loved Burford Garden centre, National Trust properties (Buscott Park, Great Coxwell Barn), Faringdon Folley and Kelmscott Manor (the country home of William Morris, the founder of the Arts and Crafts movement). The village is only a couple of miles from the Thames at Radcott, where you can walk for miles up or down the stream, or enjoy the riverside pubs. Looking a little further afield, Clanfield is on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds and only a short drive from White Horse Hill and the Ridgeway - a hilly contrast to the flat walks around Clanfield. This property is an excellent location for exploring Oxford, with its University colleges, the Ashmolean museum, Natural History, Museum of Modern Art, Botanic Gardens and punting. Accommodation overview: Chapel Cottage is a traditional stone cottage with a timber frame extension set in a large garden, opening out onto fields, situated on a no-through road in a very secluded hamlet. There is little traffic beyond the occasional tractor or car. Small children will enjoy the chickens, horses and sheep in the neighbouring fields on walks short enough for little legs and can enjoy cycling or a visit to the village well. There are great longer walks which dogs love leading from the village to Worton Wood, and footpaths to Great Tew, Sandford and beyond. If you are a keen cyclist Ledwell is an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds. Great Tew, with the famous Falkland Arms pub, is only 2 miles away and for those keen on real ale you can take a tour round the Hook Norton brewery, a Victorian brewery using one of the last commercially operated steam engines. There are excellent farmers’ markets every Saturday in villages within 15 minutes of the cottage and a wide range of restaurants, and cafes in the nearest town Chipping Norton, which also has a lido and indoor swimming pool. The designer outlet centre of Bicester Village is only 20 minutes away and other attractions within a 30 minute car drive include Blenheim Palace, traditional Cotwold villages Stow-on-the Wold and Burford, and Oxford. Stratford-upon- Avon is also within easy reach. Shop and pub 1½ miles.

Accommodation overview: This large five bedroomed 17th-century character house is set in the heart of the prestigious rural village of Rolleston-on-Dove – first documented in King Edmund’s Charter of 942AD. Overlooking the church and village green, the extended cottage has privacy assured from the very large enclosed landscaped gardens allowing areas for complete relaxation. The Croft is a detached holiday property and is close to an attractive and popular village pub which serves excellent food and wine. Furnished to a very high standard throughout, The Croft has its own cinema room which allows guests the chance to enjoy a movie on a large screen. The large family kitchen is equipped with modern fittings and the large dining room area is fantastic to enjoy a meal together at the end of a busy day. There is a conservatory and separate study room with computer access for those that like to keep in touch whilst away or for researching the many local attractions in the area.
