Nearby Bampton offers larger shops including an excellent butchers, Faringdon holds regular farmers markets and there is a local vineyard in Black Bourton. Within a couple of miles radius there are many local attractions to enjoy. These include the beautiful town of Burford - not forgetting the much loved Burford Garden centre, National Trust properties (Buscott Park, Great Coxwell Barn), Faringdon Folley and Kelmscott Manor (the country home of William Morris, the founder of the Arts and Crafts movement). The village is only a couple of miles from the Thames at Radcott, where you can walk for miles up or down the stream, or enjoy the riverside pubs. Looking a little further afield, Clanfield is on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds and only a short drive from White Horse Hill and the Ridgeway - a hilly contrast to the flat walks around Clanfield. This property is an excellent location for exploring Oxford, with its University colleges, the Ashmolean museum, Natural History, Museum of Modern Art, Botanic Gardens and punting. Here visitors can also sample a ride to The Heights of Abraham by cable car and admire the views of ‘Little Switzerland’ as Byron once described this area.
