They enjoy a perfect location on the banks of the River Avon, and on the edge of the picturesque village of Bathampton, which is 2 miles from the centre of Bath. The Kennet and Avon Canal also runs through the village, enabling walkers and cyclists to easily access Bath and beyond, enjoying the pubs and tea shops along the way. Boat trips can also be taken on the river and canal. Designated as a World Heritage Site, Bath presents some of the finest architectural sights in Europe, such as the Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge. At the heart of the city next to Bath Abbey is the Roman Baths, which gives a fascinating look into the Roman bathing complex. There is a good variety of museums and galleries, including the American Museum and the Jane Austen Centre.
