Toddlers and small children are provided for with a fenced-off area within the garden offering a place to play, whilst the garden’s perimeter is fully secure.
The area offers some of the finest walking and cycling routes in the country including Offa’s Dyke, Wye Valley Walk and Three Castles Walk, all with stunning scenery and ‘black and white’ villages en route. Ross-on-Wye, Chepstow, Tintern and Monmouth are all within easy access. Water sports, river boat tours and bird-watching are all nearby. Shops 1½ miles.

Peacefully set in rural seclusion and converted to a very good standard, these six holiday cottages are set in 100 acres of wooded and landscaped grounds. Now no longer a working farm, the location is a haven for wildlife, where visitors are free to roam the grounds. A well-stocked lake provides free fishing for guests.
The cottages enjoy a wonderfully peaceful location from which to enjoy the area’s great natural beauty and are situated close to many amenities and great days out. They are modern and spacious with comfortably furnished living rooms - several enjoying views across the lake - and have an excellent standard of fixtures and fittings throughout, including superbly fitted kitchens. A central courtyard area creates a focal point and each cottage has its own patio as well as use of the 100 acres of woodland and fields.
Crealy Adventure Park is a great day out for the children, offering something for all ages. The Jurassic Coast is 7 miles; the coastal path provides walkers with stunning views. From the coastal path it is possible to experience the drama of sheer cliff faces and numerous walks with stunning views, taking in Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Seaton and Lyme Regis. Paignton, part of the stunning Riviera, is situated on the South Devon coastline in sheltered Torbay. It is very popular with families and couples looking for a quiet break and the Paignton, Torquay and Brixham beaches are without doubt the best in the bay - they are gently sloping, very sandy, protected from prevailing winds, with a choice restaurants, bars, ice cream kiosks, beach shops and marine activities. Set in the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside, the coast at Sidmouth and Exmouth, and Exeter are 8 miles.
Exeter Cathedral was completed around 1400 and has several notable features including an early set of misericords, an astronomical clock and the longest uninterrupted vaulted ceiling in England. Powderham Castle makes for a great family day out; the children will love all the secret passages! Skirmish Paintball Games is located in Stoke Woods, an 80-acre site, 5 minutes’ drive from the centre of Exeter, and boasts eighteen separate and unique gaming areas including bridge siege, trench games and jungle swamp games. Underground passages are great on a rainy day with lots of history and crawling through tunnels. Westpoint (5 miles) hosts the annual Devon County Show, an annual Holiday on Ice Show, Antiques and Trade Fairs and occasional large concerts. There are numerous quality golf courses nearby including Northbrook Golf Club which caters for everyone’s needs from beginners and children to experienced golfers. Have a fun day out for the children at Quad World. Horse riding can be enjoyed at Oaklands Riding School stables which are set in the beautiful countryside on the edge of Exeter. Or for the more daring, take a flying lesson at Aviation South West Club House (4 miles). First flying lessons are available over the beautiful southwest area with breathtaking views from the air.
The cottages are ideally situated between Exmoor and Dartmoor and both are worth a visit as their differences are quite dramatic. Exmoor has its deer and Dartmoor has its ponies, but both have great places to stop for cream teas. Exmouth with its sandy beaches is only 35 minutes away or take a trip to Exmoor National Park and look out for red deer and ponies, or take a Landrover ride across the rugged terrain. There are many villages well worth visiting across Exmoor, take time out for a cream tea, or stop to see some breathtaking scenery. There are many National Trust places close by including Arlington Court, Watersmeet and Dunster Castle, as well as Marwood Gardens. Cothay Manor is 3 miles; Glastonbury and Cheddar Caves are within driving distance of the property, and well worth a day out. Minehead is not far away, with its sandy beach, steam railway and shops. It is hard to believe just how amazingly pretty and peaceful this tiny hamlet really is - just a church, a few cottages, and farmland all around in a totally unspoilt and most unvisited corner of West Somerset. Shops 2¾ miles, pub ½ mile.

There are several NT properties in the area, including Greenway mansion, the home of Agatha Christie, and the semi tropical gardens at Coleton Fishacre. For those with children there is so much to see and do, including Woodlands adventure park, the Buckfastleigh steam railway, boat trips from Dartmouth up the river and around the coast to Torquay, the water park at Goodrington, and a golf club close by. Widemouth Bay itself is a very convenient location for those wishing to visit other places of interest - and being close to the Cornwall/Devon border, visitors are able to see the steep cobbled streets of Clovelly, Westward Ho!, Hartland, Ilfracombe, Exmoor and Dartmoor, as well as Bodmin Moor which lies further afield. It is only a short drive to a host of sheltered coves and sandy beaches as well as attractions including the Tamar Otter Park, Brooklands Adventure Park, Launceston Steam Railway, The Eden Project, Tintagel with its legends of King Arthur and the Knights of The Round Table, and Boscastle with its fishing trips to name but a few. A game of golf can be enjoyed at one of the many clubs in the area.
