Accommodation overview: Commanding spectacular sea views from a wonderful elevated position, this charming, cosy cottage has views to the Kirkcudbright coast, Cumbrian Fells and the Isle of Man. This is the perfect location for a special 'get away from it all' break - the cottage is reached by 3/4 mile of farm track. The cottage is comfortably furnished with a sunny conservatory where you can relax and watch the sunsets. The front and rear gardens are quite delightful, with garden furniture and a barbecue provided.
Shoreline walks can be enjoyed from the cottage and the 190 mile Solway Heritage Trail winds through the beautiful scenery of the Solway Coast from Gretna to the Mull of Galloway. This unspoilt area boasts lovely beaches and a wide range of recreational amenities including cycling, golf, birdwatching, fishing, sailing and places of interest including St Ninian's Cave and The Whithorn Story (where Scottish Christianity began). There are 2 good pub/ restaurants in Isle of Whithorn and seafood is available at the harbour.

The little village of Craigie lies south of Kilmarnock, approximately 8 miles from the seaside town of Troon. Fishing and sailing are popular in the local area and golf can be enjoyed at Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry as well as numerous other local courses. The beaches of the Ayrshire coast offer miles of golden sands and Culzean Castle and Country Park are ideal for a family day out. Robert Burns's country can be fully explored from here or take a day trip by ferry to the Isle of Arran, often described as Scotland in Miniature.

Accommodation overview: This magnificent detached villa is 'B' listed (of architectural and historical importance), and stands within the Loch Lomond National Park, 5 miles from the 'Bonnie Banks'. The villa has everything a large group could possibly wish for - it has been recently modernised to an exceptionally high standard and the spacious rooms are very comfortably furnished with many original features which add considerable charm and character. South facing, the villa enjoys lots of sunshine and has extensive well-kept grounds, safely enclosed for children and with a large seated barbecue area for outdoor living. The town of Helensburgh is located on the Clyde Coast and offers an ideal base from which to explore Argyll and The Trossachs. The train station is a 2 minute walk from the villa and day trips can include outings on the world famous West Highland Line to Fort William or Oban or to Glasgow. Helensburgh has excellent shopping, hotels, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops and is home to Hill House, the National Trust Visitor Attraction designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. There are excellent recreational and leisure opportunities locally including picturesque walks, golf, fishing, sailing, horse-riding, shooting and jet-ski-ing.

Accommodation overview: In an idyllic peaceful location, with wonderful unspoilt views over the countryside, this pretty semi-detached cottage enjoys a degree of remoteness, some three miles from the main road but is still within easy reach of nearby Thornhill, Closeburn, and a little further afield, Dumfries. This is a horse rider's paradise with stables adjacent and stabling available at an extra charge if you want to bring your own horse. The quaint property is bright, airy and very homely and is the ideal base for a sporting break or just a relaxing week in front of an open fire.
Drumlanrig Castle is a short drive away, and houses a famous art collection, including works by Rembrandt and Leonardo as well as offering a great family day out with an adventure playground and 7 STANES mountain bike trails at AE forest (2 miles). Bikes can be hired at Drumlanrig and tuition is available. There is loch fishing just 1 mile from the cottage and salmon fishing in the Nith. Falconry lessons and Vintage Car Hire can be organised at a nearby hotel, only a couple of miles away. Hillwalkers make the most of the Southern Upland Way and golfers alike are well catered for. Accommodation overview: Wanlockhead is the highest village in Scotland, standing at 1541 feet above sea level in the beautiful dramatic countryside of the Lowther Hills. Nestling in an elevated row of former miners' cottages, this quaint holiday home has been sympathetically restored and refurbished. It has a lovely cosy welcoming interior with a log burning stove to come home to after a day's exploring. The village has a hotel serving delicious pub food. Nearest shop 1 mile with further shopping in Thornhill.
Guests can enjoy wandering around the village which boasts the country's only Lead Mining Museum or try panning for gold at the Mennock centre - the gold here is approx 22.8 carats! There are some lovely walks in this outstanding hill-walking country and the Southern Upland Way passes nearby. Fishing in local rivers, golf, pony trekking, mountain biking and good country roads for cycling. Easy day trips can be enjoyed to the popular towns of Moffat, Dumfries and Ayr. Glasgow and Edinburgh are each 1 hour's drive.

Accommodation overview: In a stunning location on the banks of the 'Water of Milk' river, this traditional detached cottage is adjacent to the owner's home ( a former watermill built in 1755) and is perfect for a relaxing holiday in beautiful countryside. The cottage has been fully modernised whilst retaining traditional features and is homely and comfortable, providing a lovely retreat for a couple or a small family - all rooms are on one level. There are flowering front gardens and to the rear, a small enclosed garden with seating and lovely river views.
The market town of Lockerbie is 2.5 miles away with a good selection of shops, pubs and hotels. Visitors will enjoy quiet roads through beautiful countryside to Carlisle, Dumfries or Gretna, all a short drive away. The Solway Coast is famous for its beaches and cliff top walks as well as inland forest, woodland and hill walking. Cycling here is amazing on quiet byways or the more adventurous '7 Stanes' mountain bike trails. This is also a golfer's paradise and loch/river fishing is easily accessible.
