Accommodation overview: Fenn House is located in the pretty and historic village of Alvechurch. The house is a beautifully converted, beamed Victorian building on a former Victorian brickworks site. The village is famed for its perfectly preserved black and white buildings, which grew up around the Bishop of Worcester’s Palace. Saint Lawrence Church dates back to the 10th century. The surrounding area shows the English countryside at its best, with gently rolling fields, woodland, rivers and canals. There are country and canal footpaths with fine views and abundant wildlife to enjoy. Within walking distance is Alvechurch boatyard - an award-winning marina, where narrow boats can be hired. The area boasts an abundance of National Trust properties, including Coughton Court, Hanbury Hall, Packwood House and Baddesly Clinton, all worth a visit. The holiday property is well located for Warwick, best known for its magnificent 14th-century castle, excellent shops, including antique, china and gift shops and museums. Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon also boasts an impressive range of shops, restaurants, museums, theatres, superb riverside gardens and boating facilities. The NEC and Birmingham Airport are only twenty minutes’ drive away. Birmingham also offers a whole host of attractions, including excellent shopping centres, arts venues and nightlife. The Cotswolds are within easy driving distance, as well as the Malvern Hills, for wonderful walks. Golf and horse riding locally. Shops 1 mile, pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. Accommodation overview: Nestling in the beautiful rolling Worcestershire countryside, Abbots Court Cottages offer a wonderful base to explore the surrounding countryside. Abbots Court Cottages are situated in undulating countryside next to a working dairy farm. There are numerous local walks through woodland and pasturelands, offering superb views of Malvern Hills, Bredon Hill and the Cotswolds. Golf is available - there are two golf courses within three miles. There is fishing in the nearby trout lakes in Church Lench and in the River Avon in Evesham. Horse riding is also available locally. Within easy drive of Stratford-upon-Avon, Malvern, Worcester, Warwick, Cheltenham and the many pretty Cotswold villages. The area is very fortunate to be the home of many National Trust properties - Hidcote Manor Garden, Showshill Manor, Coughton Court, Brockhampton Estate, Charlecote Park, Croome Park, Hanbury Hall, Middle Little Tithe Barn and The Fleece Inn at Bretforton. There are also a number of English Heritage properties including Whitley Court. The Malvern Spring Flower show has become a major attraction over recent years as well as The Three Counties Agricultural Show and the Autumn Show. For those who enjoy gardening, there are many local nurseries, garden centres and gardens to visit in the NGS yellow book. The local area boasts excellent pubs, many of which serve good meals using locally sourced ingredients. The owners have a wealth of information to help guests enjoy their holiday. Seven out of the ten holiday cottages have been tastefully converted from old farm buildings dating back to the 1860s and The Old Court House is a much earlier timber framed barn. The other three, although new additions, have been sympathetically designed to sit comfortably alongside the older cottages. The cottages sleep from two to six people plus a cot.
