Sleeps 16

Self catering accommodation in Whitchurch sleeps 16.

Features include: • Open Fire or Woodburner Stove • Short Breaks • Pets allowed • Detached • Sleeps 16

Accommodation overview: With beautiful rural views towards King Arthur’s Cave and King Caracticus’ Fort, this Georgian farmhouse makes an ideal holiday base for walkers. It is only one mile from The Biblins Bridge – with the meandering River Wye below – from where superb views of Seven Sisters Rock are to be admired.
The area offers some of the finest walking and cycling terrain in the country. Within 5 miles the Offa’s Dyke, Three Castles Walk and Wye Valley Walk entice walkers along their historic paths, taking in stunning scenery and ‘black-and-white’ villages en route. Symonds Yat lies close by, a must for outdoor lovers; kayaks and canoes can be hired for a leisurely day upon the river, while those seeking more excitement can try their hand at white water rafting. Other activities to enjoy locally include pot holing, mountain biking, horse riding, ballooning and abseiling, while for those happier to enjoy more tranquil pursuits, this is a great area for bird-watching, fishing and golf.
A 20 minute walk across Biblins Bridge leads into the Forest of Dean, a vast wooded expanse spanning some 27,000 acres; here the quiet observer may be lucky enough to spot one of the resident fallow deer – a reminder of the forest’s origins as a royal hunting ground for Norman kings. Indeed, this is an area steeped in history, where castles and fortifications dot the landscape, mapping out a territory fought over down the ages; nearby Goodrich Castle serves as a prime example. With the Welsh borders and Brecon Beacons to explore in one direction, and the honey-toned Cotswolds in the other, this is a centrally located base for touring this unspoilt region. And after all that fresh air, there are plenty of homely pubs in which to enjoy a hearty meal and sample some of the local ciders in good company. Shop 1 mile.

One step to main entrance. Spacious open-plan living/dining room with open fire. Large well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen/breakfast room with open fire and Falcon gas range. Utility. Separate toilet. First floor: Four double bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and toilet, two with additional single bed (for +1). Bathroom with shower attachment and toilet.
