Accommodation overview: This spacious, detached holiday home is set in 7 acres of beautifully tended garden and woodlands, in a quiet lane off the main roads on the edge of Awbridge. The discreet owners live in a small annexe of the property. There are several outdoor seating areas from which to enjoy the views and the peaceful surroundings. It provides an ideal holiday base from which to explore the Test Valley and its beautiful villages and scenery.
The small market town of Romsey, with its Norman abbey and Broadlands, home of the late Lord Louis Mountbatten, can be reached within 10 minutes’ drive. The boundary of the New Forest National Park lies within easy reach, where bike hire, horse riding, lovely walks and unspoilt villages make for a memorable visit. The cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester are an easy 30 minutes’ drive, and the historic city of Bath can be reached in approximately 1 hour by rail. The property is within walking distance of Dunwood Manor Golf Club, which welcomes visitors. Fishing on the River Test carrier streams can usually be arranged during the season. Also nearby, visit Mottisfont Abbey and Gardens, and the historic port of Southampton with its maritime museum and excellent shopping. Shop 31/2 miles, pub 3 miles.
