Accommodation overview: Set in the pretty village of Brooke, with its ‘mere’ and many ducks, this attractive 200-year-old holiday cottage (centre of photograph) has its own enclosed peaceful garden. The middle one of a row of three, its charming, beamed interior has been refurbished to a high standard, and it is within walking distance of the village’s shops and two inns (serving meals). It is about 10 minutes’ drive to the RSPB reserve at Surlingham Church Marsh. The historic city of Norwich (8 miles) offers excellent shopping, as well as fine museums and sports facilities. Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft make interesting day trips. Southwold 45 minutes’ drive. Golf 6 miles. Shops 1/2 mile. Attractive beamed living room with gas fire. Shaker-style, well-equipped, fitted kitchen with tiled floor. Breakfast room. First floor: Double bedroom. Single bedroom with extra pull-out divan bed (for +1).
