The seaside towns of Burnham-On-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare are within 20 minutes drive. The western edge of the Mendip Hills, known locally as Crooks Peak, rises to the east of the property, with the river at its base. In the far distance, the modern imposition of the M5 motorway weaves across the landscape, bringing together the benefits of the 21st century within an otherwise hidden retreat. You will be ideally situated for a range of activities, horse riding, cycling, walking and golf are all nearby. Leisure facilities: 250 metres of riverside walks on your doorstep and access to the river is approximately 15 metres from the patio across the meadow and fishing is by arrangement with owners. The accommodation, which is all on one level, offers ONE bedroom: super-king-size with dressing area. Wet room: with shower and WC. In the Spring you can help with the lambs. Play facilities: for the children, a Wendy house, a wooden play fort with climbing frame, swings, slide and lots of small toys. Accommodation overview: GRADE II LISTED CONVERSION FULL OF CHARACTER The Old Stables has exposed beams, latched doors and the original stable doors which now act as shutters for the beautiful arched windows. Peacefully situated in the small village of Stawell, located beside the Polden Hills and close to the Somerset Levels, nature reserves and walks, fishing can also be accessed. An ideal base for a touring holiday, whether by car or bicycle and is centrally positioned for the nearby towns of Street, famous for Clarks shopping village and historical Glastonbury known for its Abbey, Tor and annual 'Extravaganza' in August. Further afield is Wells at the foot of the Mendip Hills with its cathedral and farmer's market on Wednesday mornings. Other local attractions include Cheddar Caves and Gorge, Wookey Hole and the beaches at Burnham-On-Sea, Brean Sands and Weston-Super-Mare.
