With lovely walking riding and golf in the Ashdown Forest nearby it is an easy drive to Scotney Castle Sissinghurst Gardens Battle Abbey Bewel Water for bird watching fishing and cruises and the coast. London is 40 minutes by train (station 4 minutes' walk).
