Accommodation overview: PRETTY LODGE HOUSE IN QUINTESSENTIAL ENGLISH COUNTRY VILLAGE Built around 150 years ago in a toll house style and located in the heart of the village of Ditcheat. It is off the beaten track yet easily accessible from the A37 Fosse Way. Ditcheat is well known to followers of National Hunt racing as the home of champion trainer Paul Nicholls. If you are a Denman or Kauto Star fan then you will be thrilled to watch these superstars walk past your windows on the way to the nearby gallops. A stone’s throw from the lodge is the historic St Mary of Magdalene Church which was part of the Glastonbury Abbey and dates from the 12th Century. The village inn is sure to become a second home during your stay and has featured many times on Channel 4 racing when interviewing stars who come to visit the Manor House Stables. Early breakfasts can be arranged for those who need to be up and gone by the crack of dawn. The Glastonbury Festival site is just over 1 mile away and the Bath West Showground is only 1.5 miles. Lots of places to visit within a 20 mile radius, such as Longleat, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Abbey and Tor, Clarks shopping village at Street, Haynes Motor Museum, an array of National Trust houses such as Lytes Carey, Montecute and Stourhead House and Gardens.
