Walkers will be in heaven with walks direct from your doorstep and with so much to see and do in and around for all ages, you really will be spoilt for choice as to how to fill your days. Crealy Adventure Park combines magic and myths, wild rides as well as a chance to get close to nature and a variety of animals. Escot Gardens, Maze and Fantasy Woodland is a totally new gardens experience with woodland paths, picnic spots and forest playgrounds. The Woodland Education Centre in the Offwell Woods lies within walking distance and is unique because of the wide variety of quality habitats it contains. There are lots of National Trust properties but especially the historic manor of Cadhay House, east of Exeter and built in the 1550's, is worth a look. Food fanatics will not be disappointed either with a wide range of establishments offering a variety of styles from quality pub lunches, to traditional afternoon tea as well as gourmet dining. Stabling: stabling and grazing are also available on request. Nearest riding stables for lessons and hacks 3.5 miles (Farway). Accommodation overview: FABULOUS THATCHED DEVON LONGHOUSE SITUATED CLOSE TO THE JURASSIC COASTLINE GradeII listed property dating from the 16th century, the original building was mentioned in the Doomsday Book, retaining much of its charm and character with original beams and feature inglenook fireplace. The house is situated on the edge of a pretty hamlet in the Blackdown Hills and within easy walking distance is the village of Upottery, which has a good pub. The location makes this an ideal base from which to tour East Devon and the Jurassic Coast. The market town of Honiton, historically famous for lace making, is within 4 miles and has a twice weekly market, numerous antique shops in addition to many pubs and restaurants. Exeter, the county town, is approximately a 20 minute drive. The city is famous for its cathedral, canal, Roman walls and state of the art shopping centre. Dartmoor, Exmoor and The Quantock Hills are all within easy reach, and for those who enjoy walking there are country lanes and footpaths accessible directly from the property.
