Drumbeg is a fascinating old crofting village set between the spectacular Assynt mountains and the sea. The scenic 14 mile single track road from the port of Lochinver winds along the coast, past pretty hamlets, lochans, unspoiled beaches and coves with amazing sea and mountain vistas at every turn. The award winning village shop, friendly local hotel and fascinating shoreline are all within easy walking distance and there is unlimited hill-walking all around. Other activities include boat trips, angling, climbing, ornithology and wild life.

Accommodation overview: In a secluded, elevated location, high above Lochinver, this charming cottage enjoys wonderful views over the water and the village to the magnificent mountain peaks of Suilven and Canisp. The traditional whitewashed exterior conceals a fully modernised interior, which is comfortable and cosy with lovely finishing touches. The enclosed grounds encompass several wooded acres with a sitting area, lawn with play equipment, tree house, paths and viewpoint to fully appreciate the spectacular surroundings.
The cottage is on the edge of the village and the local shop and Highland Stone pottery are a short walk down the quiet lane while the main shops, restaurants, hotels, harbour and visitor centre are less than a mile away on the other side of the bay. Lochinver lies at the centre of Assynt, an area of outstanding beauty where spectacular coastal roads lead past cliffs, inlets, sandy beaches and picturesque crofting villages. The main road leads inland to the unspoiled wilderness and nature reserves of Sutherland, north to Cape Wrath or south to Ullapool. The surrounding area provides unrivalled climbing, walking, biking, angling and ornithology.

Accommodation overview: This pretty detached single storey cottage is set in its own grounds at the end of the Achnacarnin township road on the Stoer Peninsular - one of the most breathtaking beautiful locations on the renowned north west coast of Scotland. With views across the sea to the Assynt Mountains beyond, this cottage has been built to maximise its idyllic location. Whilst it is a modern property, the main living area takes its inspiration from a traditional croft house and byre, with high ceilings and lovely open fireplace, surrounded by Caithness stone. The Gaelic name translates at The Green House; this alludes not only to the outside paintwork, but also to its eco friendly green credentials - even the heating is extracted from the ground using an innovative ground source heat pump.
