The village has two pubs and a selection of shops and it is thought to have the only thatched fish and chips shop in Norfolk. Orchard House is situated 3 miles from the lovely East Norfolk Coast seaside resort of Winterton-on-Sea, with its roots in fishing. Here you will find wonderful beaches with extensive sand dunes and a small village with a few shops and a village pub. The sand dunes are nature reserve classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and ideal for bird watching and walking. Just north of Winterton is a colony of grey seals that can be regularly seen basking on the beach or popping their heads up over the waves. The traditional seaside resort of Great Yarmouth is 9 miles away with its pier entertainment and amusements and the Time and Tide Museum.
