Adjoining the owners’ listed 17th-century house, it is well placed for visiting Glastonbury (18 miles), the cathedral city of Wells (20 miles) and Taunton (25 miles), as well as several National Trust properties including Montacute House and Stourhead Gardens. Accommodation overview: DELIGHTFUL COTTAGE IN PRETTY VILLAGE OF MARTOCK This cosy cottage is located in a quiet spot in the heart of Martock village, close to several quaint pubs and village shops, it has a really old fashioned traditional village feel. There are a number of old buildings in Martock, some are Grade I and II listed buildings built in hamstone, which gives the buildings a warm golden hue which the village is known for. The hamstone is quarried in nearby Ham Hill, with the lovely Ham Hill Country Park having one of the largest Iron Age hill forts in Europe, with the park offering pathways to explore. There are also many interesting homes and gardens in close proximity to the village of Martock, all of which offer delightful sights, and magnificent historical buildings. Walkers will be spoilt for choice, for a panoramic view of South Somerset, go to the top of Burrow Hill, and for a treat visit the cider farm at the base of the Hill, where you can see the age old traditional method of producing apple cider. For those looking to explore further afield, there is much to see and do with the town of Street and the cathedral cities of Bathand Wells to the North, Yeovil to the East, Weymouth on the South coast, and the lace making town of Honiton to the West. All in all, a great spot to relax and enjoy all that Somerset has to offer. The cottage has TWO bedrooms: both having low beams, exposed stonework and Velux windows, 1 double and 1 single with room for a travel cot. Shower room: with bi-folding door, low beams, fully tiled shower cubicle, WC and heated towel rail. Cottage-style staircase.
