Accommodation overview: Higher Trickeys Barn is a large, detached, converted barn with a contemporary style but it still retains the character of the traditional house, with a mature well-tended walled garden in the idyllic and peaceful hamlet of Morebath. This is a wonderful base for families or friends to holiday together or for a celebration, and is quietly situated on the edge of the village accessed by a private lane. The local scenery is beautiful and there are many walks that can be taken straight from the house, or Exmoor and Wimbleball Lake are close by for walking, cycling, fly fishing, horse riding and a wide variety of water sports. Really great pubs, restaurants and delicious local food are available in the local villages of Bampton and Dulverton. It is set in a fantastic location for exploring many villages and local sites including Dunkery Beacon, Porlock, Landacre and Dulverton. Situated along the coastline of North Devon and Somerset, with some of the most stunning scenery in the country, Exmoor National Park continues to delight visitors year after year. It is one of the smallest and prettiest of Britain’s national parks at about 265 square miles in area. There are ancient wooded valleys with magical waterfalls, a dramatic coastline with secluded beaches and miles and miles of wild open moorland. Glimpse some red deer roaming wild on the hills, buzzards soaring in the sky, small-horned sheep and the famous Exmoor Ponies. Where Exmoor meets the sea is stunningly beautiful, with the highest sea cliffs in England, and the amazingly rugged coastline from Minehead to Lynton and Lynmouth. There are many National Trust properties to visit and there are many sandy beaches ideal for lazy days out, 11/4 hours away. Taunton steam train is a wonderful journey for all the family, get off at various places and explore then continue the journey along the beautiful coastline to Minehead. Shop and pub 1½ miles.
