Accommodation overview: In a stunning location with outstanding views across the River Tay to the Sidlaw Hills, this original 18th century Ice Barn is on the site of a former fishing station and, as its name suggests, the Ice Barn was where the ice was stored for the fishing fleet. The property has a unique and individual character with many very interesting original features intact - the ground floor has thick exposed stone walls and a magnificent kitchen with barrelled ceiling and stone flagged floor. The spacious lounge has a beamed ceiling and log burning stove with arched patio doors and picture windows to take advantage of the spectacular views.
The Ice Barn is set back from FIFE 151 A and has level exterior access to the ground floor and upper level. The two levels are linked by a spiral staricase, unsuitable for the elderly or very young.
2 double bedrooms each with en suite bathroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 small single study bedroom, bathroom with bath and separate shower. Cot available.
Lower Level: magnificent lounge with 2 steps leading up to the spacious stylish kitchen with dining table. Cooking by Aga and electric oven, oil-fired central heating. Accommodation overview: This handsome detached house is one of two in a superb location on the River Tay with stunning across the river to the Sidlaw Hills. Built in the traditional style on the site of a former fishing station, the house offers an exceptionally high standard in very peaceful surroundings. Sea trout and salmon fishing is available. For guests who wish to bring a boat, slipway facilities and moorings are available in front of the property. There are numerous golf courses in the area, including the famous Old Course at St. Andrews, 11 miles away and many National Trust properties and historic houses to explore. Cross the Tay Bridge to visit the City of Discovery. Dundee and see HM Frigate Unicorn, the oldest British-built warship still afloat and RRS Discovery, launched in 1901 and set sail for Antartica under the command of Captain Scott in his first voyage to try and find the South Pole. Explore the beautiful Angus Glens and sample the soft fruits for which this beautiful area is renowned. This lovely spacious house is designed to take full advantage of the magnificent views and is beautifully presented, with tasteful decor, very comfortable furnishings and some lovely pieces of antique furniture.
