Buxton is a 20 minute drive, Leek 10 minutes, though the main road is almost entirely out of sight and sound from the house. Shawside is a classic Victorian Staffordshire farmhouse and barn conversion set in four acres of grounds, with unrestricted views along a moorland valley and very few buildings in sight. In summer the heather blooms and turns the valley a gorgeous purple. Shop 3 miles, pub 1½ miles. Beamed living room with wood-burning stove. Sitting room with Bechstein grand piano. Dining room.
