The village is in the Cairngorms National Park at the head of Loch Ericht where it meets Glen Truim and the clear Highland waters are essential for the whisky made at the local distillery where there is a visitor centre. Walking and climbing are popular and there are numerous other outdoor activities available locally to keep all the family entertained.
