Situated in the heart of the stunning Holme Valley, on the edge of the breathtaking West Yorkshire Pennines is the lovely town of Holmfirth. The comedy ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ was set in Holmfirth and visitors can join the tour that covers some of the locations used in the popular television series. The town has winding streets and beautiful stone built cottage, along with many amenities, such as shops, restaurants, swimming pool and parks. Holmfirth also hosts many festivals and exhibits throughout the year on music and the arts. Nearby is the wonderful Colne Valley, the set for the fictional ‘Skelthwaite’ in the television series ‘Where the Heart Is.’ Holmfirth is a fantastic base to also explore the beautiful Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Park and the bustling cities of Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds.
