Norham is famous for the ruins of an impressive Norman castle, which was immortalised by the great artist Turner in 1845. The village is well served by an excellent butcher’s shop, a bakery, post office, newsagents, two public houses and a grocer’s shop. There is a children’s play area on the lovely village green. Nearby in Swinton there is an award winning restaurant at the “Wheatsheaf” pub. Berwick-upon-Tweed is only seven miles away and has excellent train links to Newcastle and Edinburgh as well as many other facilities. Cornhill-upon-Tweed is also nearby and is close to the site of the battle of Flodden. Norham is ideally situated to take advantage of both the Scottish Borders and the lovely county of Northumberland.
